DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop/implement a creative system of service strategies for employment and training programs.
- Create/implement comprehensive needs assessment mechanism to support service strategies.
- Monitor program effectiveness/efficiency; make appropriate modifications as needed.
- Write grant proposals and monitor expenditures for multiple grants.
- Train, supervise, evaluate and support program staff.
- Review client files to insure program eligibility and appropriateness of services rendered.
- Understanding of the Native American Workforce Investment Act (NAWIA) Bear Tracks 2 Management Information System.
- Electronic submission of monthly, quarterly, annual program status and financial reports.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of appropriate federal regulations and operating bulletins.
- Work with executive director, fiscal officer, auditors, attorney, federal project officer, etc. to insure continuous compliance of grant to federal agencies. • Serve liaison between grantee and funding agencies.
- Provide technical assistance and support to other Native American grantees.
- Other work related duties as assigned by executive director.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledge of and sensitivity to Native American Cultures.
- Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong management, organizational, and team building skills.
- Working knowledge of office policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and in the Internet.
- Available for limited travel two to three times per year.
- Five years relevant experience in the public or private sector in an administrative or managerial capacity, experience with nonprofit or community based organizations helpful but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree is desired (Masters degree preferred), but a combination of education and experience will be considered.
